History of the Chalet Les Fougères 1900
1900
Henri Du Pasquier, a lawyer and State Councillor from Neuchâtel, had the chalet Les Fougères built in Bullet, on the Route du Chasseron. Inspired by a chalet he had seen in Gryon, he personally oversaw the selection of beams and materials . The chalet became a family summer residence.
1900–1920
Henri and his wife Pauline spend their summers at the chalet with their children. They read, paint, write, and walk in the pastures. Family letters describe a simple, bright place where one can recharge far from the hustle and bustle.
1930–1960
The cabin remains in the family. Several generations gather there, especially during the summer. They pick blueberries, gaze at the stars , and rediscover the unique silence of the Bullet highlands. The cabin has weathered the decades without losing its soul.
2000s
The chalet needs renovation. Its structure is sound, but the comfort needs to be modernized. The family remains attached to the place, its timeless atmosphere , and its history.
2024-present
The chalet, a listed architectural heritage site , has survived the years with all the charm of the old… but also a few period surprises. Purchased by Jean-Dominique, a passionate lover of chalets, wood, and authentic buildings, it quickly became necessary to give it a new lease on life , without ever betraying its soul.

The renovations were a true family adventure : between weekends spent sanding, fits of laughter repainting each room, and minor mishaps quickly transformed into memories, everything was done in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With the invaluable help of local craftsmen and contractors from the region , the chalet was completely redesigned, going from a single bathroom for the entire chalet to four comfortable suites, each with its own bathroom, offering modern comfort in a setting that has remained deeply authentic.
